One civilian was killed and five others wounded in Syrian regime airstrikes in Latakia western Syria on Thursday, according to local sources.
The Syrian regime launched airstrikes using explosive barrels which targeted a Turkmen inhabited area in Latakia.
One person was killed while he was in a vehicle and five others wounded and were taken to hospitals for treatment, local sources told The Anadolu Agency's reporter.
The area is controlled by a number of opposition groups.
Opposition forces began protests in March 2011 to topple Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
The struggle turned into a civil war in July of that year after the regime forces violently suppressed the demonstrations.
