Thirteen people, including three civilians, were killed Saturday in a U.S. drone attack on suspected al-Qaeda militants in the central Yemeni province of Al-Bayda', a security source said.
"Ten Al-Qaeda elements were killed in the attack," the source told Anadolu Agency.
Three people were injured when the drone struck a vehicle carrying suspected Al-Qaeda militants in Al-Bayda's Al-Faraj district, the source said.
According to the source, the militants' vehicle was totally burned in the attack, while their bodies were totally charred.
The Yemeni Defense Ministry, meanwhile, confirmed the death of "terrorists" in a drone attack in Al-Bayda'.
There was no comment from Al-Qaeda group on the attack.
Al-Qaeda group is active in several Yemeni provinces, staging sporadic attacks on army and police targets.
Yemen has been struggling to maintain law and order since the ouster of long-serving president Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2012.
