Around 139 Israeli troops are receiving treatment at hospitals now, having been wounded during operations in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 days, the Israeli Health Ministry said Thursday.
It described the conditions of 15 troops as "dangerous" and the condition of a 16th one as "very dangerous"
The Israeli newspaper Maariv, meanwhile, described these casualties as "unprecedented" in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict hitherto.
Since the war on Gaza began on July 7, the Israeli army unveiled the presence of casualties among its troops, even without mentioning the specific numbers.
As many as 56 Israeli troops were killed in combat in Gaza so far, whereas Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, says it killed 110 troops.
Israeli attacks on Gaza left 1363 Palestinians dead and more than 7000 injured so far.
