Fourteen people were killed and several others were injured after a bus they were travelling in overturned in Jharkhand's Garhwa District. The accident occurred around 3 am this morning at Annraj valley near Garhwa.
Initial reports suggest the driver lost control of the bus, after which it overturned and fell into a 100 feet deep ditch. The bus was privately owned and was going from Chhattisgarh's Raigarh to Sasaram in Bihar.
The injured were taken to nearby Garhwa Civil Hospital for first aid and treatment. Eight critically injured were later shifted to RIMS Ranchi for better treatment. The deceased include women and children. The driver and conductor of the bus too died in the accident.
Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
