At least 18 people were killed and four others injured when a jam packed passenger jeep fell into a ravine in Pakistan-held Kashmir on Tuesday, local media reported.
Samaa TV said that the jeep with 22 people onboard lost control due to slippery roads and plunged into a over 100-feet deep ravine in Neelam Valley area, located at northeast of the country.
Rescue workers said that the ill-fated jeep was on its way to Neelam Valley from neighboring Kandan area when it met the accident. Police said that the accident happened due to over-loading.
Residents and rescue teams shifted the bodies and the injured people to a nearby hospital.
This is the second major road accident in the country over the last 24 hours. Earlier on Monday, 11 people were killed and 23 others injured when an over-speeded bus hit into a truck in the country's southwest Balochistan province. (Cihan/Xinhua)
