Two Israelis were injured on Monday evening after a private vehicle blew up in the southern Ashdod city, Israel's army radio has reported.
"Two Israelis were injured in what appears to be a car explosion in central Ashdod," the radio said.
The broadcaster added that police forces have headed to the scene and that investigation was underway.
Israeli officials could not be reached for immediate comment on the incident.
Last year, a number of Israeli cities saw a series of explosions which Israeli police said at the time had been part of violent score-settling between Israeli organized crime gangs.
