Two policemen were killed in a bomb blast late Tuesday in eastern Cairo, the Egyptian television said.
A police officer and conscript were killed when an explosive device went off in Hilmayet al-Zaytoun Square in eastern Cairo, the television reported.
The attack is the latest in a series of assaults on police and army personnel since Mohamed Morsi – Egypt's first democratically elected president – was ousted by the army in mid-2013.
While the government accuses Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood of carrying out the attacks, the group emphatically denies the allegations, saying it is committed to purely peaceful forms of protest.
