A total of 20 burnt bodies have been transferred from the Cizre district of Şırnak province to the southeastern city of Şanlıurfa to be identified, the Doğan news agency reported on Friday.
According to the report, the bodies were taken to the morgues of Mehmet Akif İnan Education and Research Hospital and Balıklıgöl State Hospital. The autopsies of the bodies are being conducted at the forensic medicine institution. According to the report, eight other burnt bodies were sent from Cizre to Şanlıurfa for autopsies two days ago.
Six autopsies have been completed so far, according to the report, which states that because some of the bodies were completely burnt, the authorities failed to identify them. It also adds that the police took strict security measures around two hospitals and the forensic medicine institution.
On Sunday, Turkish security forces conducted a large-scale operation in Cizre's Cudi neighborhood, which has been under curfew since Dec. 14, 2015, in which tank and artillery rounds hit many buildings.
On Monday, the state-run TRT Haber TV channel reported that at least 60 Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists had been killed in the operation. However, the General Staff announced that only 10 PKK militants were killed, while pro-Kurdish sources said those killed were civilians who had taken refuge in the basements of buildings.
Pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş claimed on Tuesday that between 70 and 90 people, many of whom were injured, had been forced to remain in the basements of a number of buildings in Cudi for 20 days.

‘Naked woman in photos have nothing to do with Cizre'

The Şırnak Governor's Office has released a written statement over some photos circulating on social media networks that shows a naked slain woman lying on the ground, allegedly in Cizre.
There were claims that the woman killed during the clashes in Cizre was undressed by Turkish security forces.
The governor's office said the photos of the naked woman have nothing to with Cizre, adding that the photos aim to overshadow an operation that has been concluded successfully in Cizre and intend to defame the Turkish security forces.
The media reports say there were two naked women in the photos.
In the meantime, the Diyarbakır Bar Assocation has filed a complaint against the alleged Cizre photos circulating on social media.
According to a Cihan news agency report on Friday, Deputy President of the Diyarbakır Bar Assocation Ahmet Özmen filed the complaint against the security forces who allegedly undressed two women to display their bodies. The complaint was filed on the charges of “being disrespectful to the deceased, inciting hatred and hostility among the public and the humiliation of the public, and insulting the memory of an individual.”
Interior Minister Efkan Ala announced on Thursday that the operations launched on Dec. 14, 2015, to target the PKK were completed as of Thursday afternoon.
