3 Palestinians Killed In Gaza During Clashes With Israeli Soldiers: Medics

Three Palestinians were killed and 20 wounded in clashes Friday between dozens of young men and Israeli soldiers near Nahal Oz checkpoint in eastern Gaza city, medics said.
The Hamas Health Ministry said Shifa Hospital in the Gaza city received three killed young men and 20 wounded, including one in critical condition after being shot in the head.
The clashes began when dozens of young Palestinian men threw stones at Israeli forces stationed in the borderline area between eastern Gaza City and Israel, witnesses said.
Israeli soldiers used tear gas and live ammunition to disperse the stones throwers who gathered at the borderline area at the end of Friday prayers.
Despite the escalating violence, Ismail Haneya, deputy chief of the Islamic Hamas movement, on Friday called for expanding the current ongoing tension in the West Bank and east Jerusalem to a larger popular intifada, or uprising.
Haneya called for enlarging the escalation and the clashes with Israel by a comprehensive intifada, adding that the Gaza Strip "is ready to join the comprehensive intifada."
Tensions have been going on in east Jerusalem and all over the West Bank between Israelis and Palestinians for more than a week. Nine Palestinians and four Israelis have died and about 1,000 people wounded. (Cihan/Xinhua)
