At least three Saudi soldiers have been killed and seven others injured by Houthis rocket attack on a military base in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Defense Ministry said Friday.
Al Massira TV network -- close to Houthis -- claim that on Friday, Houthi militants attacked a Saudi military base in the Asir region with over twenty rockets.
The channel also said that many people were killed and many others injured as a result of the attack, which destroyed a weapon warehouse and other military equipment.
On Saturday, the Saudi-led coalition, which has conducted four months of airstrikes against Shia Houthi positions, called for a five-day "humanitarian cease-fire" to allow aid to flow into the impoverished country.
However, attacks by both sides have reportedly continued despite the truce.
Fractious Yemen has remained in turmoil since last September, when the Houthis overran capital Sanaa, from which they have since extended their influence southwards to other parts of the country.
In March, Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies announced the launch of an international air coalition, which over the last four months has continued to pound Houthi positions across war-torn Yemen. - Sana
