Thirty militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) were killed early Sunday in Iraqi army airstrikes in the northern Saladin province, a security official said.
Iraqi troops have taken back the Karagol region in southern Baghdad, which was ISIL control, Commander of Baghdad Operations and Lieutenant General Abdul Amir ash-Shimri told the press.
U.S. air forces also supported the operations, Shimri added.
Meanwhile, security sources stated that ISIL militants killed the leader of al-Buhamdan tribe, Amr Ali ad-Davud at his home in eastern Mosul, for refusing to obey the terrorist group's orders.
