4 Die Of Coronavirus İn Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's Health Ministry announced that four more people had died of coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 400 since the virus appeared in the kingdom three years ago.



The Health Ministry said Monday that four people had succumbed to the virus since Sunday morning.



The fatalities, it said, had included three Saudi citizens from capital Riyadh and one foreign resident – whose name was not given – of the north-central city of Barida.



The ministry added that it had also recorded four new coronavirus cases in Riyadh, one of which also involves a foreign national.



The latest cases bring the total number of coronavirus cases reported in Saudi Arabia since 2012 to 931, while total fatalities over the same period have hit the 400-mark.



Around 27 people in Saudi Arabia are still being treated for the virus, while 502 others have recovered from it.



Otherwise known as "Middle East Respiratory Syndrome," coronavirus first appeared in the oil-rich kingdom in 2012.



It has since been detected in camels in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Egypt.
