An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale rattled Romania on Saturday night, with no immediate reports of causalities or material damage.
The earthquake office of Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency said in a statement on Saturday night that Romania was struck by an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale at 21: 14 local time.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was 45.89 north; 27.15 east, at a depth of 40 km.
The earthquake was felt strongly in Romania's capital, Bucharest, as well as in some districts of northwestern Turkey, particularly Kirklareli province.
