Two militants on Thursday killed five members from a Libyan family after breaking into their house in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, security sources said.
The slain victims belonged to Qadhadhfa, the tribe of late Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, according to Fadl al-Hasi, the head of an investigations department affiliated to a special Libyan army combat force.
"Only a female family member survived the attack with injuries, and she was moved to hospital," al-Hasi told Anadolu Agency without stating details about the reasons behind the attack.
Fadia al-Barghathi, spokesperson for Al-Galaa Hospital in the city, said the female family member who survived the attack is now placed in intensive care at the hospital.
