At least six PKK terrorists were "neutralized" late Tuesday in the eastern province of Tunceli, the regional governor's office said.
The governor's office said in a statement that the counter-terrorism operation that also seized the terrorists' weapons followed a PKK attack on a police station in the Nazimiye district early Tuesday that martyred one soldier and wounded three others.
The air-supported operation resulted in a gun battle between security forces and the terrorist group.
An extensive security operation in the region remains ongoing.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed. -
