The Ezzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' armed wing, on Thursday claimed to have killed eight Israeli soldiers in eastern Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Brigades said that its fighters sneaked behind Israeli army lines and killed eight soldiers in the eastern al-Tofah neighborhood.
The statement went on to say that Hams fighters also destroyed an Israeli personnel carrier in the area.
Violence raged in the Palestinian territories since Israel launched a devastating military offensive in the Gaza Strip on July 7 with the stated aim of halting rocket fire.
At least 732 Palestinians have been killed and more than 4500 others injured in relentless Israeli attacks on the blockaded seaside enclave.
Gaza-based Palestinian factions, for their part, have continued to fire rockets at Israeli cities in response to the ongoing Israeli attacks.
At least 32 Israelis, including 30 soldiers, have been killed since the hostilities began.
