A woman in Fatih called 112, stating that her 2-month-old baby was not breathing. The teams reported that the baby, who had dropped to 2 kilograms, had passed away and showed signs of abdominal retraction. The mother, who said the baby had died in the morning but called 112 12 hours later, also mentioned that the baby had not been fed for the last 3 days. Her husband, with whom she lived in a religious marriage, as well as the grandmother and grandfather living in the same house, were taken into custody.
A chilling incident occurred in the heart of Istanbul. On December 30, Y.Y. (20) called the 112 Emergency Call Center to report that her 2-month-old baby was unresponsive and not breathing.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BABY HAD DIED
Health teams that arrived at the address determined that the baby had passed away. In the investigation initiated regarding the incident, it was found that the baby was born on November 5 at Istanbul Training and Research Hospital, discharged on November 7 weighing 3.2 kilograms, and on the day of death weighed approximately 2 kilograms with a sunken abdomen.
NOT FED FOR 3 DAYS
Mother Y.Y. was taken into custody after she stated that the baby had died in the morning but called 112 about 12 hours later, and made contradictory statements about the baby not being fed for the last 3 days.
MOTHER AND RELIGIOUSLY MARRIED HUSBAND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Y.Y.'s religiously married partner, B.Y., who was learned to be the father of the child, along with grandmother A.Y. and grandfather Y.E.Y., who lived in the same house, were also taken into custody. An investigation is ongoing against the suspects for the crime of "intentional killing."
