The United States Geological Survey (USGS) shared that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Yakutat region of Alaska.
NO TSUNAMI WARNING ISSUED
No tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake, which was recorded at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. The USGS reported three more earthquakes in the same region within about an hour, the first two measuring 4.7 and the other 4.1 in magnitude.
NO CASUALTIES OR DAMAGE REPORTED
No casualties or damage have been reported due to the earthquakes. The population in the area is very sparse.
