A 75-year-old man who was bitten by a tick while working in a field in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane has died due to Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF).

Niyazi D. (75), who lived in the Deredolu town of the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane, was bitten by a tick while working in the field. After a while, the man felt unwell and was taken to Kelkit State Hospital with complaints of high fever and bleeding.



HE DIED



The elderly man was then transferred to Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Farabi Hospital. Despite approximately 15 days of treatment here, Niyazi D. passed away.



Niyazi D.'s funeral was held yesterday afternoon after the funeral prayer performed in the Deredolu town, and he was laid to rest.
