Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made a reference to Fenerbahçe during the Ordinary Divan Assembly in April. Özbek said, "Our women's volleyball team, which makes us all proud, will play in the third-place match tomorrow evening. Our wheelchair basketball team will also play its final match for the championship. I want a strong round of applause for all our teams. The essence of a strong applause is that it should be heard from Kadıköy."
The yellow-red club's Ordinary Divan Assembly was held in April at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park Özhan Canaydın Conference Hall. President Dursun Özbek reacted to their eternal rivals Fenerbahçe, with whom they are competing for the championship.
Özbek's statements are as follows;
"WE ARE LEAVING FLORYA"
We are now leaving Florya. We have partially moved from Florya to Kemerburgaz. The relocation process is complete for our A Team. Our construction activities in Riva were hindered by a change of contractor. With its new format, the construction activities that I care about a lot have started. Contracts have been redone. You will be pleased, Galatasaray will have a very important financial return.
LET IT BE HEARD FROM KADIKÖY
Our men's basketball team has reached the Final Four in the Champions League for the first time in our history. Our men's volleyball team will play the rematch of the match they won 3-0 against Fenerbahçe. I am sure they will secure a clear victory today and write their name in the final. Our women's volleyball team, which makes us all proud, will play in the third-place match tomorrow evening. Our wheelchair basketball team will also play its last match for the championship. I want a strong round of applause for all our teams. The essence of a strong applause is that it should be heard from Kadıköy.
MAY IS OURS
Our football team is progressing confidently on the road to the championship. They are also continuing in the cup race. There is a motto that our community loves: "May is ours." There is not much left. We will live up to this motto.
Galatasaray continues to stay on the field and win there despite the tense environments that are being created. Galatasaray has never been and will never be a community that creates tension in society and pits brother against brother for the sake of winning a championship. It has been appreciated by everyone, both biased and unbiased, for the championships it has rightfully earned on the field. For this reason, Galatasaray's successes bring happiness and peace to the Turkish people. The UEFA Cup we won in Copenhagen is the greatest evidence of this. Let's remember the joy of that day, regardless of which team's fan you are. Let's refresh our memories of our country's happiness and how our people rejoiced.
TRY TO OVERCOME US ON THE FIELD
I am addressing those unhappy people who constantly chase tension. This country's football and its people are very tired of the environment you want to create just for the sake of winning a championship. Come on, give up these hostile attitudes, the words you don't believe when you say them, and the problematic moral actions you take for the sake of winning. Fulfill your responsibilities towards this country's sports. Return to the field. Try to win there and to overcome us.
We will win our 25th championship and put on our 5th star. I wholeheartedly believe in this and I expect all Galatasaray fans at the Bodrum match on Friday.
"There is a case at hand. Galatasaray Sports Club owes approximately 5 billion to Galatasaray Sportif AŞ. This is our debt. We can analyze where this debt came from and how it reached this level. The speakers who come here talk as if they have no knowledge of this debt and its formation, as if they have no involvement, saying 'we have a debt of 5 billion, how will we pay it, where did it come from,' and these are friends who have been in management before. They should be the ones who know exactly where this comes from."
"Friends are painting a pessimistic picture here, but it is not like that at all. We do not deserve this as Galatasaray Sports Club. We have become a club that everyone envies. From A to Z, everyone... Yesterday, I visited a public institution for Galatasaray again. I talked to them about some of our problems. They congratulated me. They said, 'We are examining all clubs, the most reputable club is Galatasaray Sports Club.'
WE WILL PAY A LARGE PART OF THE DEBT
"By leasing the infrastructure facility in the long term, we will have paid a large part of Galatasaray Sports Club's debt to Sportif AŞ. We need to produce more projects like this. If we remain static and do nothing, we will just cry until the evening. My friends and I are as concerned as you are. There should not be such a debt. The friends speaking here should be the ones who know best how this works. This debt is not a debt that will be charged to this management. It is a debt that has accumulated over time.
I REMEMBER THE GENERAL ASSEMBLIES OF SOME CLUBS
"I remember the general assemblies of some football clubs. I feel sad. I feel sad. I get tired."
"We brought the idea of establishing a fund. We will establish a fund related to projects, and we have received authorization for the funds coming from here to be used for amateur sports and overdue debts. While explaining this to you, it is easy to distort some figures due to their professions. Their distortion is not easy for you to understand immediately. 'We sold Florya, money came, the debt is 500 million euros, the money is gone, Florya's money went there, is there any money left for the fund?' Look, friends, when you think of the Galatasaray Sports Club association and Sportif AŞ in a consolidated manner, the situation is as follows: if we stop the interest bleeding, the day we realize the event I mentioned when I said we should get out of the Banks Association consortium, the fund produced by Galatasaray will be able to operate without needing anyone's money, neither the association's money nor Sportif's money. People who have managed this club a bit can see this very easily."
NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO DEMOTIVATE US
"Nobody has the right to demotivate us. Of course, we are open to criticism, we take note of it, but I hope that such things will not be done regarding the other topics I mentioned. As a board of directors, we are listening to criticisms in a very calm and Galatasaray-worthy manner, and we are trying to provide answers that will satisfy you. Please do not engage in actions that will deform the meeting etiquette that Galatasaray is accustomed to. We sometimes encounter such things, but if you think about it being published, it does not suit Galatasaray."
