A group of hackers on the dark web made a post stating that they had stolen personal data, including the TC identity numbers of millions of citizens, from Turknet. FIRST THREATENED, THEN ATTACKED
A dark web member named "hades_hgs," who carried out the cyber attack, stated that he first threatened TurkNet and then executed the attack. The individual, who claimed to have just been released from prison, wrote that he was bored and looking for a target, and chose Turknet as his target, obtaining some data. The user, who also provided information about Turknet, then shared a list containing many details, including the names, phone numbers, national ID numbers, and addresses of numerous users.
Turknet responded to the allegations that the data of two million users was stolen. The company shared the results of the investigation conducted on the matter and informed its customers. In a statement from Turknet, it was reported that the attack did not include users' "financial information and TurkNet user passwords."

The attack did not include our customers' financial information and TurkNet user passwords, and this information is secure end-to-end.
Efforts to identify the perpetrators of all these attempts and to initiate the necessary legal processes will be carried out in coordination with the relevant public institutions, and the necessary breach notification has been made to the Personal Data Protection Authority and the Information Technologies and Communications Authority.
