While the process of the SDG terrorist organization dissolving itself and integrating into the army cannot be completed in Syria, Turkey has signaled that a major operation will be carried out if the process is completed by the end of the year. Security sources, stating that the presence of the upper management of the SDG in the Damascus government will absolutely not be accepted, indicated that the Syrian government could conduct operations for the integrity of the country and that Turkey would support this.
Turkey is closely monitoring developments regarding the future of the SDF, which it sees as an extension of a terrorist organization in Syria. Security sources stated that the SDF will integrate into the Syrian army by the end of the year, indicating that Turkey has taken a clear stance on this issue. Sources speaking to Yeni Şafak newspaper said, "As Turkey, we say, 'You will disband as an organization, and you will integrate into the army individually. You will no longer act as a single organization.' This is our condition. We absolutely do not accept the upper management of the SDF being part of the Damascus government."
"WE WILL SUPPORT SYRIA'S OPERATION"
Security sources, recalling the March 10 agreement, stated that if the conditions are not met, the Syrian government could conduct operations for the integrity of the country, and Turkey would support this. Sources noted, "Recently, there have been minor conflicts in some regions; they are still trying to resist. However, sooner or later, they will integrate. Because the US, Syria, and Turkey agree on this matter. Israel is trying to stir up trouble. It is not possible for PKK members to join the SDF and then enter the Syrian army from there."
JOINT ISIS OPERATION BY THE US AND SYRIA
Sources pointed out that the Syrian government's joint operation with the US against ISIS last week is a significant turning point. They stated that with this development, the last argument held by the SDF has also lost its validity. On the other hand, it was noted that Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon have agreed to establish a joint operations center against ISIS, and Turkey has sent personnel to the center. It was reported that Turkish and Syrian soldiers are working together at the center, and the training process of the Syrian army is also ongoing. "The training of the second group is about to start in Turkey," it was informed.
"THEY CANNOT ACHIEVE ANYTHING IN THE REGION WITHOUT TURKEY"
Security sources evaluating the US's Middle East policy stated that the Washington administration is just beginning to understand the balances in the region: "The US has just started to understand what we have been trying to explain for 10 years. They have seen that they cannot achieve anything in this region without Turkey. You can be a global power, but you cannot do everything alone. The only power that can be worked with in this region is Turkey. Their willingness to work with us in recent crises in Syria, Gaza, and Ukraine-Russia is a testament to this. The US wants to withdraw by achieving relative stability in the region."
"THE SYSTEM IN SYRIA WILL SLOWLY FALL INTO PLACE"
It was noted that efforts for reconstruction have accelerated a year after the December 8 revolution in Syria. Security sources expressed that in the upcoming period, Gulf countries, Turkey, and Egypt will work together for the reconstruction of Syria and the establishment of an economic order: "These efforts have just begun; it will take time. The system in Syria will slowly fall into place. It is very important for the US to lift the sanctions. They have serious support for Syrian President Ahmed Shara."
CHIEF OF GENERAL STAFF BAYRAKTAROĞLU'S CRITICAL CONTACTS
Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu's official contacts in Damascus also drew attention. It was reported that Bayraktaroğlu met with Syrian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Murhaf Ebu Kasra and Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Ali Nurettin Nasan, and conducted inspections at the Turkey-Syria Joint Operations Center. During the visit, Bayraktaroğlu was also received by Syrian President Ahmed Shara. The Deputy Chief of General Staff General Levent Ergün was also present at the meeting.
