Actress Nastassja Kinski Working On 2 New Films

Nastassja Kinski has two upcoming films in the works, one of which she will direct, the German actress said on Tuesday.

Kinski was speaking in a press conference in Malatya, the eastern Anatolian city that is hosting the actress-producer as its guest of honor, as part of the fifth Malatya International Film Festival. Fifty-three-year-old Kinski will receive a special award from the festival in a ceremony on Thursday.

Kinski, whose career highlights include Roman Polanski's 1979 film “Tess” and Werner Herzog's 1984 “Paris, Texas,” which won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, did not provide any details about her upcoming films at Tuesday's news conference. She refused to reveal the titles of the projects, but said she will be acting in one and directing the other.

“I started working in film at age 12 and I always kept working. I acted in so many films,” said a reserved Kinski, the daughter of late German actor Klaus Kinski, in reply to questions regarding the decline in her career following the 1980s. “Later I got married and I had children. … I'm fond of my life [with] my family and my kids,” added Kinski, who has two children with her former husband, Egyptian filmmaker Ibrahim Moussa, and a daughter with Quincy Jones, her partner during the early 1990s.
