A 22-year-old Afghan national was shot at by two unidentified assailants in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area on Monday evening after a heated argument. Police said that the victim has been identified as Mustafa and he lives with his father and sister in Hauz Rani area in a rented accommodation.The argument.

A 22-year-old Afghan national was shot at by two unidentified assailants in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area on Monday evening after a heated argument. Police said that the victim has been identified as Mustafa and he lives with his father and sister in Hauz Rani area in a rented accommodation.

The argument escalated after which one of them allegedly whipped out a pistol and shot him twice in front of over 50 people. However, no onlooker nabbed the accused. The victim’s friend also received injuries.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital where they are now recuperating. A case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 of the IPC was registered at Malviya Nagar police station of South Delhi.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim is working with a leading private hospital in Saket area as a translator and was having snacks along with his friend at a food stall when he had an argument with the two men.
After committing the crime, the assailants managed to escape from the spot.

Police came to know about the incident at 5.15 pm after locals made a PCR call and informed them about the incident.
Police has started their investigation and recovered footage from a CCTV camera in the area.
