The fire at the Kervansaray Hotel, which was reported to be closed due to the lack of a tourism operation certificate in Bolu, has raised questions after a national athlete and his father lost their lives. In the hotel's statement, it was mentioned that the closure notice was issued as of March 17, while the identities of the 12 people present inside during the fire have become a matter of curiosity. The ministry has assigned an inspector to investigate the matter.
In the hotel that was closed due to the lack of a tourism operation certificate in Uludağ, the fire resulted in the death of Yahya Usta, known as "the teacher of teachers" and the President of the Turkish Ski and Snowboard Instructors Association, and his 24-year-old son, World Alpine Skiing Champion Berkin Usta.
THERE WERE 12 PEOPLE IN THE HOTEL DURING THE FIRE
It was stated that there were 12 people in the Kervansaray Hotel, which was engulfed in flames and turned to ashes within minutes, raising questions about what these individuals were doing in a closed hotel and who they were.
"SECURITY GUARDS WERE STAYING IN THE HOTEL"
After the tragedy, the question "Were customers admitted to the closed hotel?" came to mind, while Hüseyin Bülbül, who works as a security guard in another hotel in Uludağ, claimed that security guards were staying at the Kervansaray Hotel.
WHAT WERE THE NATIONAL SKIER AND HIS FATHER DOING IN THE HOTEL?
In the hotel's statement, it was mentioned that the closure notification was made to the gendarmerie as of March 17, while the question of why Yahya Usta and his son, national skier Berkin Usta, were staying in the hotel has not yet been answered.
MINISTRY ASSIGNED INSPECTORS
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security announced that inspectors were assigned to investigate the fire due to uncertainties. In the statement made by the ministry, it was stated: "An inspector has been assigned by our Ministry to investigate the fire that occurred in a hotel closed due to the lack of a tourism operation certificate in Bursa Uludağ. As a ministry, we are closely monitoring the process. We pray for God's mercy on the deceased citizens, offer our condolences to their relatives, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured citizens."
BOZBEY: THE REASON WHY 12 PEOPLE STAYED THERE IS A SUBJECT OF INVESTIGATION
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey made a statement regarding the fire that broke out in a hotel in Uludağ, resulting in the death of two people, saying, "At the end of January, this structure was inspected by our colleagues, and their findings were reported. Subsequently, reports were sent to our Governorship, the Ministry, and the Area Presidency for necessary actions. According to this report, deficiencies should have been addressed or the hotel should have been closed. There is information that the hotel was closed. However, the reason why 12 people stayed there is a subject of investigation."
