Before the historic call, Önder shared Öcalan's message, stating, "While presenting this perspective, he certainly conveyed to us the note that the laying down of arms and the dissolution of the PKK require the recognition of democratic politics and the legal dimension."

DEM Party delegation made the expected statement in Istanbul after their 3rd meeting in Imralı. The call of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to the terrorist organization was read. Öcalan called for the PKK terrorist organization to lay down their arms.
