Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party deputy chairman Yasin Aktay met Djibouti's Ambassador to Turkey Aden Houssein Abdillahi in Ankara on Thursday.
The closed-door meeting took place at the headquarters of the party in Sogutozu district of Ankara.
Aktay, who is in charge of the party's foreign affairs, stressed that the close relations between Turkey and Djibouti were a consequence of strong historical ties.
On June 26 -- two days before the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan -- Turkey delivered 200 boxes of humanitarian aid for orphans and 85 needy families in the Djiboutian province of Tacura, which used to be a part of the Ottoman Empire before the formation of the modern Turkish republic.
