All Set For Vodafone İstanbul Half Marathon To Be Held On Sunday

The 2014 Vodafone İstanbul Half Marathon takes place on Sunday. Preparations have been completed for this international event, which has attracted plenty of interest from the media and running enthusiasts.

İstanbul is no stranger to this kind of event, and Turkish Athletics Federation (TAF) President Fatih Çintımar said every effort has been made to make Sunday's event a great success.

“The İstanbul Half Marathon will be a prelude to the İstanbul Marathon. It is a great event, and many big names will be taking part. It will help promote Turkey and also make it an international brand,” Çintımar said this week.

So far, over 4,000 have registered to take part. The fee for registration, which started on Feb. 1 and ended on April 20, was TL 25 for Turkish citizens and TL 45 for foreign participants. The 21.1-kilometer race will begin at the Old Galata Bridge in Balat, make a turn at Eyüp Hospital toward Kumkapı Fish Market and end in Balat at the same place it started.
