At least 15 people were injured on Sunday from flying shrapnel of anti-aircraft missiles used by Shiite Houthi militants against warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition in the western city of Al-Hudaydah, eyewitnesses said.
The witnesses told AA that the casualties were transferred to several hospitals in Al-Hudaydah city in Yemen's western province that bears the same name.
Houthi leaders could not be reached for an immediate comment.
Late Saturday, Saudi-led coalition warplanes targeted military sites that were seized by Houthis in Al-Hudaydah city, which prompted the latter to respond by anti-aircraft missiles.
Saudi Arabia and Arab allies, meanwhile, have been pounding Houthi positions in several across Yemen.
Saudi Arabia said the anti-Houthi campaign, which began Wednesday, was in response to appeals by President ABD Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to "save the people [of Yemen] from the Houthi militias."
Some Gulf countries accuse Shiite Iran of supporting the Houthi insurgency in Yemen.
