Armed Group Kidnaps Electrical Workers In Diyarbakır

Ten employees of Dicle Electricity Distribution A.Ş. (DEDAŞ) have been abducted by unidentified people in the Silvan district of Diyarbakır.

According to reports by Turkish news agencies, the 10 workers from the DEDAŞ office in Silvan were in the village of Gürpınar to determine if electricity was being stolen there. They were reportedly intercepted while in their vehicle by an armed gang who kidnapped them and left their car on the road. Security forces have launched an operation to rescue the workers.
