The Kazakh-Czech ministerial consultations were held in Prague. A Kazakh delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Volkov, Czech one - Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Tlapa, the Kazakh foreign ministry said on April 24.



The sides exchanged views on the prospects of the Kazakh-Czech relations in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation within the UN and the European Union. One of the agenda issues was to discuss President Nazarbayev's official visit to the Czech Republic in 2012.



During the meeting special attention was paid to the regional and international issues of mutual interest.



The sides discussed prospects of developing the cooperation between the foreign ministries as part of the economic diplomacy. In this regard, Volkov urged the Czech side to actively participate in the EXPO-2017 upcoming international exhibition.



The parties also discussed issues of multilateral cooperation, exchanged views on main issues of international security. In particular, the issues of intensifying the dialogue between Kazakhstan and the EU were discussed. The head of the Kazakh delegation stressed that the key point of interaction with the EU is to prepare a new agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation designed to reflect the next stage of relations.



Particular attention was paid to the coherent interaction as part of the international organizations. In this context, both sides expressed willingness to provide mutual support in the UN bodies.
