Unemployment in Australia peaked in November reaching its highest level in 12 years, the country's Bureau of Statistics reported Thursday.
The jobles total increased by less than 0.1 points to 6.3 percent, although more than 40,000 people were employed in November, according to the bureau.
It added that the increase was mainly driven by an increase in part-time labor for females.
"The number of employed persons in November 2014 increased by 7,100 to 11,613,900 and the number of unemployed persons increased by 4,700 to 775,400 in trend terms," the bureau underlined.
The Age newspaper reported Thursday that the figures showed the fastest pace of jobs growth since March 2012, but also the highest jobless rate for more than 12 years.
