Austrian Theater Daskunst To Premiere New Play 'Almanci' In İstanbul

Austria-based theater ensemble daskunst's newest play “Almanci” will have its world premiere this week in İstanbul at Turkish theater company Tiyatro Tatavla's performance venue, Tatavla SAHNE.

“Almanci” will be performed on Friday at Tatavla SAHNE in İstanbul's Cihangir neighborhood, the publicist of the event announced in a press release this week. The one-act play recounts the stories of three people -- Aycan, Alev and Danny -- who have embarked on a journey to reach to the place they belong to or they feel they are a part of, and casts Alev Irmak, Daniel Keberle and Emre Akal.

Written by Akal, “Almanci” is directed by Aslı Kışlal, an Austria-based Turkish stage director who is also the founder and dramaturge of daskunst. The play starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets, priced TL 45 and TL 35 (for students), are available at www.biletix.com.

Tiyatro Tatavla was founded by stage actor and radio personality Eraslan Sağlam in 2013. The company's stage, Tatavla SAHNE, became active this September, and it also features performances by other ensembles that do not have their own performance venues.
