Azerbaijani Gymnasts Participate In European Championship

These days, the 32nd European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships are taking place in Swiss Bern.

At these Championships, Azerbaijan participated in team competitions among seniors and juniors for the first time, said in report of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF).

According to the results of the qualifications, gymnasts - Oleg Stepko, Petro Pakhnyuk, Timur Bairamov and Daniel Robert Lucas took the 20th place among 28 teams. Unfortunately, a mistake made by Oleg in exercises on Parallel Bars, did not allow him to reach the final on his favourite apparatus, which brought him the bronze medal at the last World Championships.

Juniors Murad Agharzayev, Aghamurad Gahramanov, Samad Mammadli, Javidan Babayev and Sergiy Onbysh made their debut at the European Championships' events. In total of four best results in a team competition shown on each apparatus, juniors ranked 22ndamong 30 teams. (Cihan/Trend Az)
