Bahrain's Foreign Ministry has called on all Bahrainis in Yemen to leave the country immediately due to ongoing unrest in the crisis-hit country.
In a statement, the ministry called on all Bahrainis still in Yemen "to leave the country immediately due to the current circumstances and for their own safety."
Late Wednesday, Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies, including Bahrain, launched a military operation – which included airstrikes – against positions held by the Shiite Houthi group in Yemen.
Politically fractious Yemen has been rocked by turmoil since last September, when pro-Houthi forces overran capital Sanaa, from where they have since sought to extend their influence to other parts of the country as well.
Some Gulf States accuse Shiite Iran of supporting Yemen's Houthi insurgency.
