Belgian Ambassador to Turkey Marc Trenteseau hosted a celebration honoring King Leopold I, known as King's Feast, at Ankara's Swissôtel on Tuesday.
Stating that King's Feast is a symbol of the Belgian people's loyalty to the monarchy, Trenteseau went on to say, “The crown is a symbol in Belgium that the people of Belgium chose the constitutional monarchy themselves; therefore, our monarchy is a result of Belgian democracy.”
Many dignitaries, including Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs Undersecretary Rauf Engin Soysal and Gen. Akın Öztürk, commander of the Turkish Air Forces (THK), and diplomats were present at the celebration.
