Biden To Arrested Dündar's Son: You Have A Very Brave Father

US Vice President Joe Biden met with arrested editor-in-chief of Cumhuriyet daily Can Dündar’s son and his spouse Dilek Dündar during his İstanbul visit on Thursday. Ege Dündar told that Biden said to him that he has a very brave father and he must be proud of it.

Replying the questions of the journalists, following the meeting, held at Conrad Hotel, Ege Dündar said “It was a short meeting. He asked about how my father is. He said I have a very brave father. I must be proud. He said they are doing everything they can and they will continue to talk about press freedoms. He expressed his support. And in response we thanked him for his kindness. We said we appreciated the American model of democracy which values press freedoms and we also try to apply to these values in Turkey.”

Meanwhile, Tahir Elçi’s wife Türkan Elçi and Hrant Dink’s wife Rakel Dink came to the Conrad Hotel to meet with Joe Biden.
