Several people were reportedly injured Saturday when a bomb blast went off at a military barrack in Nigeria's central Plateau State.
"The explosion occurred around 10a.m. at the Nigerian Army 3 armored division barracks in Bassa," Adamu Philip, a university lecturer whose relative was involved in the blast, told The Anadolu Agency.
"I'm not aware anybody died at the moment but five people got injured," he said.
Army spokesman Chris Olukolade told AA he has not "heard about the blast."
It is not immediately clear if the bomb had been planted by Boko Haram militants, who have a history if staging attacks in Plateau, a state long plagued by ethnic clashes.
The last major attack in Plateau was in February when at least 14 people died.
