A number of people were killed, while others injured late on Saturday when a booby-trapped car driven by a suicide bomber went off near a checkpoint manned by fighters from the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, a Lebanese security source.
The source could not, however, determine the number of dead and injured victims in the blast.
The car went off in eastern Lebanon's Beqaa region, targeting a Hezbollah checkpoint, the source, who asked not to be named, told Anadolu Agency.
Hezbollah has been fighting alongside the Syrian regime and against the opposition in the Arab country since 2013.
