President of the Central African Republic Catherine Samba-Panza arrived in Cairo on Thursday for talks with Egyptian officials.
Samba-Panza is expected to meet with President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab for talks on bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of water, as well as counter-terrorism.
The Central African President will also meet with Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayeb to discuss cooperation between the two sides.
Since last year, mineral-rich Central African Republic has been plagued by tit-for-tat sectarian violence between Christian anti-Balaka and Muslim seleka militias.
