China's First Important Goal Is To Carry Forward Our Friendship

While china’s president XI Jinping was speaking to media, he said, “Dear friends from the press, this is my first trip to India as a President of the People’s Republic of China and I hope to achieve three goals through this visit. The first purpose is to carry forward our friendship. China and India are both ancient form of civilization with thousands of years of friendly interactions with each-other. We don’t just take pride in our own civilization, we also admire and respect each-others civilizations. It is also important that to expand our friendly contact, keeping a mutual understanding and friendship between two nations and make sure to be always friends with each-other. The second goal is to keeping our cooperation. Both China and India are emerging market and there is a strong complementarity between our two economies.

The third goal is to pursue development together. Both China and India see development as our top priority. We have common development goals, similar development philosophy and compatible development strategies. It is important that we deepen the alignment of our respective development strategies and to build a closer developmental partnership.

China and India are the world’s two largest developing countries and the emerging markets. We are also two forces in an increasingly multipolar world. Therefore, our relationship has strategic and global significance. When our two countries work with each-other for common development we can bring benefit to the 2.5 billion people in China and India. We can bring prosperity to Asia and we can create opportunities for the world.

During this visit I hope to work with the Indian leaders to be strong advocates of China-India relations and to partner with each-other to take our strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity to a higher plane.”

Xi Jinping arrived in Delhi last night and was given guard of honour.
Today in the morning he was at Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
