Çiçek Provides Numbers On Past Legislative Term

Parliament enacted 47 bills into law and debated 151 bills in this year's legislative year, which ended on Sept. 30, Parliament Speaker Cemil Çiçek announced on Monday.

Çiçek shared figures and numbers from the legislative year, which starts on Oct. 1 every year and ends on Sept. 30. According to Çiçek, 173 bills were submitted to Parliament in this past legislative year, 47 of which became law. A total of 647 proposals were submitted to Parliament, and 175 of these have become law. Currently, 2,052 proposals are being debated in parliamentary commissions and 11 proposals await discussion by the General Assembly, he said.
