HOLLANDE/ERDOĞAN'S VISIT: French President François Hollande said on Wednesday that there are international issues France needs to discuss together with Turkey.

BAN KI-MOON/GAZA: Addressing the Security Council, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday said "nothing could have prepared me for what I witnessed in Gaza." Ban said that he saw "mile after mile of wholesale destruction" and heard "heart-wrenching accounts of suffering and pain" from survivors of an attack on a UN run school.

VACCINES AGAINST EBOLA: A senior UN official has confirmed that two experimental Ebola vaccines are the "front runners" in the race to stop the transmission of the virus. The first vaccine was developed by the British company GlaxoSmithKline, and the other one by the Government of Canada.
