Columnist Uslu's News Portal Blocked In Turkey

Access to a news portal belonging to Today's Zaman columnist Emre Uslu, who is among the outspoken journalists who are critical of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government, has been blocked in Turkey.

Announcing that his news portal, yeniyon.com, is no longer accessible to Internet users in Turkey via his Twitter account on Friday, Uslu wrote, “The government used to make the judiciary warn the websites to remove content or a particular news report, but now they have chosen to silence the voice of critics completely.”
