D-8 Chief Visits Aa Stand At International Business Forum

The Secretary-General of the Developing 8, or D-8, Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi, visited the Anadolu Agency's stand at the 18th International Business Forum on Wednesday, an AA correspondent has reported.



The D-8 Organization was established in 1997 to promote development cooperation among Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.



Mousavi visited several stands in the fair and said, "We really attach great importance to the private sector in the D-8 family. And we shall meet the target of $500 billion of intra-trade between member countries by 2018. The D-8 trusts the private sector to reach this goal."



"Frankly speaking, Turkey is the pioneer of our D-8 family. We are proud of Turkey's private sector. We hope that we have an opportunity to hold a joint expo of the D-8 very soon," he added.



The Secretary-General also said that the AA is one of the most effective news agencies in the Middle East region. He recently met with AA's Director General Kemal Ozturk.



"We hope to invite the news agencies of the member countries to our upcoming summit," he added.



The International Business Forum, which took place at the WOW Convention Center on the European side of Istanbul, brings together leaders and businessmen from the Muslim world to increase international cooperation and to consider investment opportunities. 



Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also attended the forum.
