Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu stated on Friday that service to Turkey is the same as service to Azerbaijan saying he sees Azerbaijan as his county.
Davutoğlu who is currently on an official visit to Turkey held a press meeting following a tête-à-tête with Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev. The PM said he sees Azerbaijan as his country. "For us, service to Turkey is service to Azerbaijan. Service to Azerbaijan is service to Turkey,” told Davutoğlu to the reporters. He stated that relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan set as an example for other countries in the region.
Davutoğlu invited ALiyev to groundbreaking ceremony of Turkmen natural gas in the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) project on March 18 in Çanakkale province.
Commenting also on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Davutoğlu said Armenia falls behind some initiatives due to its irreconcilable stance. “If respect is shown to territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and peace is built within that scope, Armenia benefits from that like other countries,” added Davutoğlu.
