GAMBIA

Banjul - Conclusion of 2-day Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit, which started on Saturday in capital Banjul, with leaders from 57 member countries of OIC and beyond addressing global issues, notably current situation in Palestine and Israel's ongoing war in Gaza. During summit, three key documents – draft Palestinian resolution, draft Banjul statement, and draft final document – will be presented to Council of Foreign Ministers and then to summit for discussion.

PALESTINE

Gaza City - Humanitarian and military developments in Gaza Strip as Israel continues its relentless onslaught for 212th day despite UN Security Council resolution demanding immediate cease-fire in besieged enclave.

Since last October, Israeli offensive has killed more than 34,600 people and injured nearly 78,000 others amid crippling blockade that has left most of population on verge of starvation.

Israeli airstrikes continue on several areas in Gaza Strip, including city of Rafah, refuge for some 1.4 million displaced persons, which Israel insists it will invade as alleged last stronghold of Hamas, despite growing international warnings of catastrophic consequences.

Ramallah - Ongoing Israeli raids in West Bank since Oct. 7 which have led to killing of 497 Palestinians, injuring around 4,950, and arrested more than 8,550, according to Palestinian sources.

ISRAEL

Tel Aviv - Protests in Israel to pressure government to resign and reach hostage swap deal with Palestinians.

On Saturday, hundreds of Israelis demonstrated in Rehovot near Tel Aviv to demand the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

EGYPT

Cairo - Indirect talks between Israel and Palestinian group Hamas in Cairo aimed at reaching hostage swap deal and cease-fire in Gaza.

Egyptian media reports on Saturday indicated "significant progress" in Gaza cease-fire negotiations between Hamas and Israel. Cairo 24 channel suggested emergence of "consensual formula" on several contentious points.

LEBANON

Beirut - Continuing cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israel that flared up last October, in deadliest clashes between two sides since their full-scale war in 2006.

YEMEN

Sanaa - Growing tension in Red Sea amid Houthi attacks on commercial ships suspected of ties to Israel and retaliatory US airstrikes on Houthi targets inside Yemen, causing fears of significant disruption to maritime traffic in one of world's busiest routes for oil and fuel transport.

London - In the annals of history, London often takes center stage for its role in shaping global events. But one lesser-known chapter in the city's history is its contribution to the Russian Revolution of 1917.

Before what would become a pivotal moment of upheaval that set the stage for the emergence of the Soviet Union and, later, the Cold War that dominated the 20th century's latter half, many prominent Russian political figures and revolutionaries would gather in London's East End, commonly referred to as the "Little Russian Island" in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. -
