Draft Of Final Nuclear Deal To Resume Wednesday: Iran

28.04.2015 13:33

Drafting of final nuclear agreement text between Iran and the P5+1 countries will resume Wednesday in New York.

Resumption of the drafting of text for the final nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 countries will begin Wednesday in New York, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said late Tuesday.

"In the meeting with U.S. State Secretary Kerry, it was agreed that we and the P5+1 group seriously resume drafting the text from this week and continue the job in the next week to obtain the final text," he was "ed saying by Iran's Tasnim News Agency Wednesday.

Zarif made the comments after meeting with Kerry in New York for the Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference.

The foreign minister also stressed that the U.S. government assured Iran of its commitment towards a final nuclear agreement despite its internal dynamics and politics in the Congress.

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved the so-called "compromise bill' on April 14 that gives the U.S. Congress more power to review the final nuclear agreement with Iran after the Obama administration completes the negotiations.

"In the meetings, the American delegation once again assured us that if an agreement is reached, the U.S. government will be committed to implement it," Zarif was "ed as saying by Tasnim.

According to Iran's news agency IRNA, Kerry agreed with his Iranian counterpart by saying if Iran and the world powers sign a comprehensive nuclear agreement, the U.S. will implement the deal and will be bound to it beyond its internal disputes.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also said Tuesday that internal conflicts in the U.S. are not related to Iran and to the implementation of the agreement, the Fars News Agency, FNA, reported.

"If the other side shows serious resolve, reaching a final agreement in the coming months will be possible," FNA "ed him saying.

Rouhani also said his government is trying to fully settle Iran's nuclear issue, adding "Iran is seeking peaceful nuclear technology and not the destructive bombs," he was "ed saying by IRNA on Wednesday.

In the previous round of talks between Iran and the six-member group in Austrian city Vienna between April 22-24, Abbas Araghchi, Iran's deputy foreign minister and chief nuclear negotiator informed that the drafting of the text of the final deal had begun and was progressing well.

Iran and the P5+1 countries - U.S., Russia, U.K., France, China plus Germany - reached a framework deal on April 2 in the Swiss city of Lausanne over Tehran's nuclear activity, while the sides have until June 30 to agree on a final nuclear agreement.
