Egypt's highest court on Sunday dismissed as unconstitutional articles in the country's parliamentary electoral law, making it most likely that general elections would not be held as scheduled on March 21.
The Supreme Constitutional Court struck down article three of the law which defines constituencies nationwide.
A judicial body affiliated to the court had made the same recommendation earlier last month.
Sunday's ruling makes it almost likely that the general elections, scheduled for March 21, would have to be delayed pending amendment of the problematic articles.
