Egypt Court To Rule İn Jan. On Jazeera Journalists' Appeal

An Egyptian court has set January 1 to rule on an appeal filed by three foreign journalists from the Doha-based Al Jazeera television channel against jail terms delivered against them this summer, an Egyptian judicial source has said.



The three reporters, including Australian journalist Peter Greste, were slapped with jail terms ranging from seven to ten years for "fabricating news."



Egypt's military-backed government has accused Al Jazeera of harboring bias in favor of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and his embattled Muslim Brotherhood group – an allegation the network denies.



Morsi was ousted by the Egyptian army in July of last year following opposition protests against his single year in office.
